i'm an italian football fan and i'm interested at the origin of football teams
could you tell me about the origin of the Hannover 96 shirt?
why the club adopted its colours?

as I heard it, our jerseys are red because of the following story: Our colours are black- white- green and the colours of the other important club from Hannover (Arminia Hannover) are green and white. Both having green as the dominating colour caused confusion and that´s why it was decided that one club should play in red and one in blue and so 96 plays nowadays in red and Arminia in blue
but I am not sure if this story is the reality or a legend, but still hope I could help you
