By foot
Arriving at the main Railway station you can always go
by foot. That takes 20-30 minutes, depending on your walking speed. During the last hour before kick-off , you couldn't got wrong, just follow the masses
By underground
Else you can use the underground lines 3 and 7 to "wettbergen" (sometimes "Wallensteinstraße") or line 9 to "Empelde". You start
here. Just go down the stairway you see on the start of that panorama and take the left of the two escalators down to the correct platform. You can go on underground lines 3, 7 or 9 and exit on the third station called "
Waterloo". When you leave the train you turn left, against the direction of travel, and leave the Waterloo station. Follow the signs saying "Stadion /Waterloostraße" or all those other guys in red.
Passing through the glass doors you turn right,
up a ramp that mounds on the Waterloostraße and just walk straight on to the stadium.
By bus
The number 100 bus is going to the stadium as well and of course also matchdays.
Maxy1896 is wrong on that. The bus
does take a different route an matchdays: It just rounds the stadium on the front instead of on the back. It definitely stops at the northern and the southern entrance. I know that for sure, as I take that bus to get there. Leaving the Hauptbahnhof at the front (near track number 1) you pass a monument of Ernst-August on a horse. You have to walk straight past it for about 200m to reach the
Kröpcke. There you turn left down the wide space. Walk past the pass the Cafe Mövenpick on the right (open
this panorama and turn around 180°). After about 60m you'll find the bus station for the bus line 100. On some matchdays extra buses are going to the stadium. These buses show "Fußball" or "Stadion" on their signs.
Stay on the bus 100 for four stations and get off on "AWD Arena/Arthur-Menge-Ufer", where you can already see the stadium on your left (or get off, when all the other guys in red do
).
