My first impressions of SC werent very good. I will give him the benefit of the doubt because he came back over to play in the friendly with a team that he doesnt regularly play with. Since then I think he has has a few nice games where he has tried to get involved with the offense more but I just dont think he has been consistant for us. Things may be different with his play for H96 though, because he always seems to be playing with the first team.....so again, maybe I havent been seeing enough of him or maybe I just noticed when he did something stupid. He must have the smarts because he is playing in one of the top Eruopean leagues. As far as his stature, he seems to be lack a little in the air, but seems fast and strong enough.

Well, now you're preaching to the choir! As a matter of fact, many people over here think that Steve doesn't have what it takes to play in the Bundesliga. He is still making the same mistakes he made in the 2. Liga (the one below the Bundesliga), namely being off position too many times. This has led to quite a few goals for the opposing team.

Many of us (including me) cannot understand why our coach still lets him play all the time. Steve is a good guy but his strength lies in the offense, so as a defensive player he is both wasted and a risk for the team.

Well, But as long as Steve does not play the whole teasm seems to make the mistake only Steve is doing when he plays ;-)... I think he is the best we got for that position (leave Schröter where he was when he recovers again: richt midfield in front of steve!), and there is no better one on the market right now...
I still hope that he will improve his skills and make less mistakes though...

There are guys playing in MLS (American Pro League) that are way better than SC. Maybe H96 should go shopping again in the US. Just look at the player that Fulham pulled out of MLS, Bocanegra. He is a very strong player on both ends of the field. Players here are salivating to be invited over to Europe to play with the best...........On a serious note, their goal differential is killing them.....it does look like they need to add some defense to the mix. jmo (just my opinion)

Although we did too much shopping for my taste already, I say bring 'em on! I like American players for their work ethic, something that is sorely missing with a lot of players from Europe.



Actually, that's everybody's opinion! I think that is only part of the problem, though. The individual defensive players aren't that much worse than those of other clubs. What happens a lot is that once we start attacking, somebody loses the ball and our defense is caught by surprise. This is probably due to a mixture of nervousness and low self-esteem... they have been playing much better in the past.

Cherundolo will be back in the team again on Sunday but if he will play bad again he has no future in our defence! In my opinion it is definitely his last chance!

I saw the game today with my Son and yes Steve played great. What a terrific goal it was. I hope his injury is not too serious.

he's getting better and better... let's hope he stays a 'Roter' and won't go to Schalke...

I have not heard that he may go to Schalke. Is it a rumor or have they offered him a contract?

Up to now it´s a rumour, but we´re all afraid, that it can happen, because first of all the new coach in Schalke is our old one (Steve was one of his darlings) and secondly, his contract here in Hannover is going to the end ...

The Bild am Sonntag (Sunday yellow paper) wrote that Dolo's agent informed Hannover 96 today that he will be going to Schalke... I hope it isn't true, the BamS isn't he most riliable of all sources, tomorrow we will know more I hope...

The official homepage has a new interview with Steve up. But you guessed it... it's in German. So whip out the dictionaries or use some internet translators, ask your brothers or get a language chip implanted in your brain... at least until our club decides to release the thing in English. Which would make some sense, I guess. In any case, enjoy.

sorry.... der rote, thanks for the heads up... trying to read the article in german is both very frustrating for me- but also fun- kind of like a puzzle- some of the words are coming back & i understood a couple of complete sentences!!
