This Saturday we'll al witness the derby of the two Bundesliga teams having Americans in their squad (Leverkusen does not count yet). 'Dolo vs Casey, the in America underrated midfielder vs the in Germany underrated forward? We'll see. We hope to have a big party going on here, because the Mainzians are the biggest Partypeople anyways ;-) (Alaaf! helau! Oder wie hieß des? ;-) ).
It will be interesting to see whether 96 can handle the loss in Munich in the BL, they proved that it does not affect the club. But, not having won for 3 games or so Mainz is still a hard opponent.

Hannover will win this game - they are the home team and playing a similarly ranked "overachieving" team right now. Its time to party on this one - do you have "tailgate" parties before the games in the parking lot in Germany?
BTW Casey is a good but nevertheless over-rated player by US international standards IMHO - but is highly regarded by his German coach. This is becasue the German game is so different from the South and Central American game (the US has to play a slew of Central American countries like Mexico) in WC qualifying. In Germany size and strength of forwards - and target men - are more important that speed and skill - hence you get players like Janker doing well. Casey is well suited to the requirements of success in the Bundesliga apparently.

We'll meet about two hours before the game and discuss it a bit, maybe have a beer. Maybe. Anyone is welcome, so feel free to show up if you're in the area! That's only partially true. While there are some big strikers in the Bundesliga they tend to be paired off with smaller, more agile players. Dortmund's Koller and Ewerthon are an example. And don't underestimate Jan Koller. While he will not be mistaken for a Brazillian striker anytime soon, he is surprisingly agile and a good technician.
Jancker is similar in stature, but not nearly as good a player. He played one really good season for Bayern München but then kinda fizzled and never scored much anymore. So he is not really doing well.
However, it is true that the technical skills of most South American players are better then those of the average German player. Which is why many South Americans have a hard time adapting to the more athletic style over here.

"Vielen Dank" would be the correct form - but we appreciate the gesture!

yep, looks good, doesn't it?
Even though Casey's goal was, in fact, a goal and it should be 2 - 1

It's actually latin and means "Was zu beweisen war"...
Great game, though. Our stadium totally rocked and we could have scored a few more goals, really.

Yup. Mathis would have scored about 16 goals today.
