Ok, I will make a short outilne, but keep in mind that the season didn't start yet and therefore we can't say that much for sure, especially regarding the new players. I'll use the line up of last saturday's game against Aston Villa
Enke - Our goalie, best man of the last season together with per Mertesacker, solid defense, since two years by some considered the best German keeper (has been voted strongest goalie of the BL the last two seasons by the other players)
Cherundolo - Plays in the US NT, speaks fluent German, together with lala he has been on the squad for the longest time, he is quick, makes occasionally great crossings, but has also his black-out moments
Andersson - You know most about him I guess ;-)
Vinicius - By many regarded as a great talent, he didn't play often last season, but didn't complain, so a big + in sympathiy. Plays quite solid when he is needed though
Zuraw - He played really solid in defense with Per Mertesacker
Tarnat - He's quite old, so we don't expect him to play that much longer. Isn't the fittest anymore but can rely on his experience.
Nagy - He's new, don't know too much about him.
Balitsch - Plays quite good, becoming an important player for the psychology of the team
Rosenthal - He is a talent from our youth squads
Yankov - didn't live upm to his talent last season, but that may change now
Huszt - also new, don''t know about pro's and con's
Bruggink - a lot of experience, plays a classical 10, also not bad on shots on the goal
Lala - a lot of experience but a few stupid things last season.
Stajner - You either love or hate him. He is either a genius or does really stupid things on the pitch
Hashemian - forwards should shoot goals, didn't live up to expectations, same can be said about Brdaric

I hope this helps. I am basing most of this on newspaper reports though.
When do you need the information exactly? If you have a few more days I could ask in German and translate the results.
