Reports on British TV are today saying that Hannover 96 have been given permission by Glasgow Rangers F C to talk to Thomas Buffel. He is a 26 year old Belgian midfield play-maker. Buffel has played 60 games for Rangers since signing for them from Feyenoord in January '05, including several games in the Champions League.

It was reported that several clubs, including Schalke 04, have been interested in signing him.

Was on Spiegel online as well. As long as it's not official we wait though. YOu don't happen to have any insights on him? I heard he's benched mainly because he can't cope with the physical style of the Scottish league but technical is very good...?

It now appears that he is not coming to the 96 because, if I have understood properly, his wage demands are too high and his agent has not been completely honest with Hannover or the player. So, that's the end of that!

That's what is written in the local paper HAZ as well.
Oh well, I think we could use that kind of player... We'll see.
